The Renovation of the Salesian Monastery in Kazincbarcika
August 2019
For the renovation, and modernisation works of a disused multi-storey building owned by the Salesians of Don Bosco the Energocell® foam glass granules were used in the new layer structure of the floor. The reinforced concrete plate-like floor built with prefabricated G beams was initially filled with blast furnace slag. The space between the beams was filled with foam glass and separated with a PE membrane on which a mesh-reinforced screed was executed on all four levels, over a total area of 2,300 m².
The building will house the parish office, space for children's activities, chapel, apartments, service lodgings. Given that the building was granted locally a special conservation status, the façade of the building was also reconstructed during the energetic modernisation and renovation works.
