Relieving the Loads on a Cellar Ceiling in Bordány

In this reference project near Szeged the Energocell® foam glass granules were used to relieve the loads on a cellar ceiling. The vaulted hallways and domed chambers of the cellar create significant differences in level on the upper part of the ceiling slab, therefore waterproofing was only possible by using liquid-proof concrete. The Energocell® foam glass (150-175 kg/m³) is over 10 times lighter than concrete, and it imposes a minimum of load on the ceiling slab, and after levelling the uneven surface, an easy to pave over surface was obtained.
