New Truck Garage for the Water Plant in Sopron

The Water Company in Sopron (Soproni Vízmű Zrt.) extended its water treatment plant by building a truck garage. The investor wanted a heatable building, therefore the floor had to be insulated. For the function of the new building, a load-bearing thermal insulation had to be provided, that doesn't shrink over time. To fulfil these expectations the architect and the contractor implemented the following design:

• 25 cm reinforced concrete slab
• 10 cm compacted gravel infill layer
• 20 cm load bearing thermal insulation layer made of compacted Energocell® foam glass granules
• 20 cm receiving/base layer made of compacted gravel
