Historical Building Renovation in the City of Loyalty

One of the architectural monuments of the old/historical city centre of Sopron can be found on Kolostor street. The renovation extends to the façade, the roof structure and the interior spaces. The renovation includes the thermal insulation of the closing floor as well. The developer chose ENERGOCELL® foam glass granules instead of the polystyrene concrete due to the following:

• it has high load bearing capacity even in thick layers;
• it doesn't shrink;
• it's lightweight;
• no water is introduced into the building structure during incorporation;
• it's pest-resistant;
• it's easy and fast to work with.

The foam glass granules were placed over the top of the vaulted ceilings in a layer with thicknesses varying from 20 to 30 cm.
